This is the first blog post which will be focused on giving you the tools, information and advice on how to run a successful campaign on WhatWeWant.

Here is a list of things you will need to consider before starting your campaign.

What is your target?

How big is your outreach?

How will you get the word out?

How much can you raise?

Do you have a timeframe?

Will you have any perks/incentives?

Through this blog we will give you tips and hints that will help make your crowdfunding experience easy and successful.

Before you even upload anything on the app you should start promoting your crowdfunding campaign. Speak to those closest to you or people you believe most likely to give as a sounding board. You can even talk to us at WhatWeWant to help guide you towards answering some of the questions above. If they like the idea this is also a great opportunity to get them to commit to giving to your campaign once you start. The first few days of a campaign are vital and having 20%-30% already committed prior to starting will boost your chances of achieving your goal.

The most successful campaigns take around a week to prepare. They are carefully planned and thought-out before they are uploaded - it’s important to put in the prep time. We find that the campaigns that are uploaded on a whim very rarely hit the targets expected of them.
